RESOLUTION NO. 5915 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND THE ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY AND ITS L. WILLIAM SEIDMAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE, FOR THE PREPARATION OF A 20-YEAR ECONOMIC VITALITY REPORT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $145,000. WHEREAS, the City of Chandler wishes to contract with the Arizona Board of Regents, for and on behalf of Arizona State University and its L. William Seidman Research Institute (“ASU”), for the preparation of a 20-year economic vitality report for the city; and WHEREAS, the report will address multiple topics crucial to the city’s future economic prosperity and will complement long-term planning efforts being undertaken for the city’s 2026 General Plan Update; and WHEREAS, work is expected to begin in July 2025, and completion of the report is expected by February 1, 2026; and WHEREAS, the city has agreed to pay ASU the sum of $145,000 for preparation of the report and related work as detailed in Exhibit A of the attached intergovernmental agreement; and WHEREAS, funding for the report has been secured through a grant by the Chandler Industrial Development Authority; and WHEREAS, per Arizona Revised Statutes §§ 11-951 through 11-954, public agencies may enter into intergovernmental agreements for the provision of services or for joint or cooperative action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. Approving the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Chandler and the Arizona Board of Regents on behalf of Arizona State University and its L. William Seidman Research Institute in substantially the form attached as Exhibit “A”. Section 2. Authorizing the Mayor to sign and execute the Intergovernmental Agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler.
