Report Suspicious
Greetings Mikayla, Just wanted to express my concerns regarding the height of two story duplexes being approved by the city in the pueblo
Viejo area. I live two blocks from this rezoning proposed building which would be totally out of character with the area. The duplex that went
up at 211 S Dakota is totally out of place (it's a monstrosity) with the older properties and approving another two story full lot duplex will
create an out of place structure for this neighborhood. Comparing a large two story duplex with older lots with two single level houses is not
a valid comparison. Entering from the dirt alley will only add to the dust in the area. Long time privacy for surrounding homes will be lost by
this two story building. Allowing large two story buildings scattered throughout this older neighborhood will reflect lack of concern and
respect for the long time residence who already deal with additional traffic and noise from the downtown area. I am assuming this duplex
will be/become a rental at a cost more than middle incomers. My preference would be to allow single level homes only in this area before
the city opens the flood gates to investors building multi story structures scattered within this older part of town. They just don't fit the area.
Any advice for me and others in approaching the city with this pueblo Viejo area concern would be appreciated.
Regards, Rene Barrios

Honorable Chair and Board Members,
My name is Flor Martinez, and I am a lifelong resident and neighborhood leader in Pueblo Viejo, Chandler. I’m writing on behalf of several
concerned residents from the Downtown neighborhood regarding the proposed project on California Street (PLH24-0035).
While the community welcomes development and revitalization, many neighbors are deeply concerned about the proposed height of this
project. A similar development on Dakota Street, which is nearing completion, has already had a significant impact on the character of our
neighborhood. Its size overwhelms the surrounding homes, occupies the entire lot, and compromises the privacy of adjacent properties
allowing clear views into neighboring yards and homes from its second-story unit.
Pueblo Viejo is a historic, multi-generational neighborhood with deep roots and strong community ties. Residents are not opposed to new
development, but they are asking that growth be balanced with respect for the area's existing charm, character, and privacy.
We respectfully ask the board to reconsider the height of the proposed California Street project to ensure it aligns more closely with the
scale and spirit of our community.
Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Flor Martinez
Pueblo Viejo Resident & Community Leader
