Meeting Minutes Human Relations Commission Regular Meeting June 11, 2025 | 4:00 p.m. ASU Chandler Innovation Center 249 E. Chicago St., Chandler, AZ 85225 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Chair Maxwell at 4:06 p.m. Roll Call Commission Attendance Staff Attendance Chair Erica Maxwell Tadd Wille, Assistant City Manager Vice Chair Kriti Agarwal Niki Tapia, DEI Officer Commissioner Betty Ramirez Adrianna Erickson, DEI Coordinator Commissioner Garry Ong Dara Gibson, DEI Specialist Commissioner Kent Lane CC Cantabrana, Management Assistant Commissioner Joacim Mattison Commissioner Pamela Morris Commissioner Jevan Bremby Commissioner Tony Pham Commissioner Shauna Risinger Commissioners Absent Commissioner Omar Rodriguez Guests Taylor Ducklow, Facilitator Scheduled and Unscheduled Public Appearances None Consent Agenda Motion and Vote None Page 2 of 2 Action Agenda Election of New Chair and Vice Chair Positions The Commission held a vote for new Chair and Vice Chair positions. Vice Chair Kriti Agarwal was nominated for Chair, with the motion made by herself and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lane. Commissioner Garry Ong nominated Commissioner Betty Ramirez for Vice Chair, with the nomination seconded by Vice Chair Kriti Agarwal. Both motions passed unanimously. Selection of Review Committees There was a call for the selection of review committees for the Diversity Education Mini-Grants (going forward to be called the YouthSpark Education Grant) and the Event Sponsorship Grant (going forward to be called the Community Threads Grant). Commissioner Shaunna Risinger nominated Commissioners Kent Lane and Jevan Bremby to serve on the YouthSpark Committee, with the nomination seconded by Vice Chair Kriti Agarwal. Vice Chair Agarwal then nominated Commissioners Pam Morris, Kent Lane, and Shaunna Risinger to serve on the Community Threads Committee, seconded by Commissioner Betty Ramirez. Both motions passed unanimously. Discussion Taylor Ducklow facilitated a presentation to support the HRC Strategic Plan, focusing on how to work collaboratively, continuing best practices for serving the community, and build the vision of the Commission. Member Comments/Announcements Calendar The next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 6 p.m., in the Chandler City Council Chambers, 88 E.
