RESOLUTION NO. 5922 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH 
THE CITY OF MARICOPA FOR JOINT TRAINING. 
 
WHEREAS, the Maricopa Fire and Medical Department (“MFMD”) and the Chandler Fire 
Department (“CFD”) previously entered into an intergovernmental agreement to conduct joint 
training at the Chandler Public Safety Training Center (“CPSTC”) pursuant to the authority of 
Resolution 5373; and 
 
WHEREAS, this joint training benefits MFMD and CFD both operationally and fiscally; and  
 
WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 11-951, et seq., provides that public agencies may 
enter into intergovernmental agreements for the provision of services, or for joint or cooperative 
action; and 
 
WHEREAS, MFMD and CFD wish to execute an intergovernmental agreement (“IGA”) to 
continue engaging in joint training at the CPSTC. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
Approves the terms and conditions of the IGA in substantially the form attached as 
Exhibit “A.” 
 
Section 2. 
Authorizes the Mayor of the City of Chandler to execute the IGA on behalf of the 
City of Chandler.
