Meeting Minutes Chandler Museum Foundation Executive Subcommittee Regular Meeting August 20, 2025 | 2:00 p.m. Chandler Museum, Saguaro Room 300 S. Chandler Village Drive, Chandler, AZ Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Barbara Meyerson at 2:01 p.m. Roll Call Board Member Attendance Staff Attendance Barbara Meyerson, Chair Jody Crago, Museum Manager Rich Feely, Vice-Chair Becca Vega, Marketing & Volunteer Greg Herriman, Treasurer Coordinator Absent Unscheduled Public Appearances None. Consent Agenda 1. Approve Minutes from July 23, 2025, Museum Foundation Executive Subcommittee • Rich Feely made a motion to approve Minutes from July 23, 2025. • Greg Herriman seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously (3-0). The minutes were approved as presented. Action Agenda None. Page 2 of 4 Briefing 2. Museum Store Committee Representative • Former CMF Board Member Calvenea Malloy was the Museum Store Committee Representative • Museum Manager, Jody Crago, clarified that this committee is a Chandler Museum committee, not under the Chandler Museum Foundation • Subcommittee members discussed the process for placing a new representative on the Museum Store Committee and decided that CMF Chair Barbara Meyerson will bring up the opening to the Board at the September 2nd meeting and ask for a Board member to volunteer with the expectation that they will start immediately. 3. Marketing Workgroup Representative • Mrs. Malloy was the Museum Store Committee Representative • Subcommittee members discussed the process for placing a new representative on the Museum Store Committee and decided that Mrs. Meyerson will bring up the opening to the Board at the September 2nd meeting and ask for a Board member to volunteer with the expectation that they will start immediately. 4. Discover Your Museum Event Update • CMF Board Member Jacki Ryan now has a Museum Foundation credit card to pay for event-related expenses. • Mrs. Ryan shared updates on the planning of the event: o She met with a valet company and decided not to pursue renting golf carts o Poles for string lighting in the courtyard have been installed o City of Chandler Parks will lend addition lighting o The Foundation will rent 7 round tables and 11 high tops to supplement what the Museum already has o Someburros will be the caterer o A few RSVP’s have been received and cards that returned undeliverable are being readdressed 5. Basha Oral History Update • Mr. Crago shared the update on the Basha Oral History project: o The Museum is trying to conduct as many oral histories as possible before the October 4th deadline for them to be included in the exhibition o 2 oral histories will be conducted on August 25th and a group interview may be conducted on August 29th o Museum Storyteller Sarah Biggerstaff may be traveling to the Navajo Nation with a City of Chandler videographer in September o Mrs. Biggerstaff has dedicated Mondays and Fridays to interviews 6. August 28th Presentation to Chandler Cultural Foundation (CCF) • Mr. Crago and Mrs. Meyerson will present a powerpoint on the history of the Chandler Museum and CMF, a summary of the Discover Your Museum event, and upcoming plans for the Museum (exhibitions and events) Page 3 of 4 7. Museum Manager's Report • Mr. Crago provided updates on the Museum Campus’s preparation for the Discover Your Museum event: o The McCullough-Price House will be painted o Site lighting is being checked and fixed o Building and Facilities will be stripping and refinishing the benches in front of the entrance • Exhibition Updates: o Ceangal/Connections and ¡MONSTRAS! will close before the end of the month o Sonoran Shapes + Structures and The Newest Americans open in September • Program/Event Updates: o Monster Weekend went well, with high attendance 1. Attendees asked if the film screening would be an ongoing series and the dancers wanted to return for more events o Planning for the Book of Names event on November 1 continues • America 250 o The Chandler Museum is involved in the planning for the City of Chandler’s upcoming America 250 programming in 2026 o The Museum will be involved in making an exhibit on the “27 Flags of America,” which will travel around the city all year Member Comments None.
