Mayor's Youth Commission 2025 - 2026 Meeting Calendar Approve the Mayor's Youth Commission 2025 - 2026 Meeting Calendar. Action Agenda Motion and Vote COMMISSIONER Siddarth Ramkumar moved to approve the April 8, 2025 Mayor’s Youth Commission meeting minutes. Seconded by COMMISSIONER Aashi Singhai. Motion carried unanimously (15-0-3). COMMISSIONER Siddarth Ramkumar moved to approve the Mayor's Youth Commission 2025 - 2026 Meeting Calendar. Seconded by COMMISSIONER Ipshita Chowdhury. Motion carried unanimously (15-0-3). Discussion 3. Welcome and Introductions Commissioners were welcomed and the group did introductions. 4. Mayor Hartke Welcome Mayor Hartke was introduced and discussed what it means to be part of the Chandler Mayor’s Youth Commission. He discusses his background and told the commission how they can contribute to the City of Chandler. Page of 3 4 5. Group Icebreaker Commissioners engaged in an icebreaker. 6. 2025 - 2026 Mayor's Youth Commission Overview Alexis Apodaca provided an overview of the commission, including meeting requirements, the role of commissioners, and the event schedule. 7. New Mayor's Youth Commission Pilot Program Alexis explained to the commission an opportunity for returning commissioners to work closely with other commissions. Examples of other commissions include the Airport Commission, Parks and Recreation Board, and more. Only 5 commissioners are chosen, this opportunity is counted as 1 of the 4 required events to attend for the year. She also discussed the specific responsibilities and actions the chosen commissioners will take to have success in this experience. If this program goes well, this could be implemented in 2026 as a commission-wide opportunity. 8. League of Arizona Cities and Towns Conference - Wednesday, August 20, 2025 Alexis provided a recap of the Arizona League Conference, including preliminary details about the conference. 9. Council Meeting Attendance - Monday, September 15, 2025 6pm The City Council Meeting opportunity on Constitution day was explained to commissioners. This event will be held on September 15th at 6 pm. Commissioners should RSVP to Alexis if they want to go. 10. Special Event Sponsorship Funding Panel Representative - Wednesday, September 10, 2025 5pm - 8pm Alexis discussed a special opportunity for a singular commissioner to represent youth as a funding panel representative. Commissioner Luo was chosen at random with a wheel, thus she will represent the Chandler Commission at the event. 11. Florence Teen Leadership Symposium - Wednesday, October 22, 2025 8am - 5pm Alexis discussed the Florence Teen Leadership Symposium opportunity. It is an event in the town of Florence with opportunities for networking, conferencing, and learning new skills. Commissioner Ramkumar further explains his experience at the past Florence Teen Leadership, and how he met professional speakers. Member Comments/Announcements None.
