Construction Report

Capital Projects – Design Phase: 
 
West Airport Facilities Upgrade: City funded at $3.9 million.  Revised scope includes operations 
garage, parking lot and aircraft observation area.  Finalizing plan comments.  
 
Airport Fuel Tank Relocation: City funded at $610,000.  Cost negotiation with vendors.  Budget 
transfer under evaluation.  Evaluating alternative methods. 
 
Runway End Identifier Light (REIL) Installation Runway 4L-22R (North Runway): FAA funding 
for $110,000.  Revising drawings for circuit change for 24/7 REILs. FAA confirmed environmental 
clearance. 
 
Capital Projects - Construction Phase: 
 
Hangar Area Pavement Rehabilitation:  City funded $7.4 million to redo pavement in and among 
the city-owned hangars.  Multi-phase work underway with project scheduled for completion in 
December. 
 
Taxiway B Improvements- Phase 1: ADOT grant for $2,035,000.  Construction start TBD based on 
receipt of long-lead items (lighting).  Tentative pre-con 10/6. 
 
Runway 4R-22L Rehabilitation (South Runway): FAA construction grant received for $1,425,674.  
Construction start on 10/6.   
 
Former K&K Site Remediation: City funding for soil remediation near end of Cooper Road north 
of Queen Creek.  5.8 acre restricted use area remaining.  Substantially complete.
