Meeting Minutes Mayor’s Youth Commission Regular Meeting October 14, 2025, 5:00 p.m. Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility, 3315 Old Price Rd. Chandler, AZ 85248 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Olivia Lu at 5:03pm. Unscheduled Public Appearances None. Action Agenda 1. Approval of Minutes Approval of the September 9, 2025 Mayor’s Youth Commission minutes. Action Agenda Motion and Vote Commissioner Siddarth Ramkumar moved to approve the April 8, 2025 Mayor’s Youth Commission meeting minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Cailyn Crampton. Motion carried unanimously (18-0-1). Discussion 2. Mayor Welcome Mayor Hartke was introduced to the Commission and provided an overview of the upcoming bond election in Chandler. He provided educational information on what a bond is and why cities choose to pay for infrastructure using bond funding. 3. Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility Tour The Commission took a tour of the Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility. Tyrell Mauck, the facility superintendent, explained and led the group through different parts of the facility, and explained different mechanisms that operate the water reclamation system. 4. Debrief: Council Meeting Attendance – Monday, September 15, 2025 Commissioners Shripal and Brad reported on their attendance at the special Constitution Day Council Meeting. They shared their takeaways about Constitution Day and the historical events discussed regarding Page 3 of 5 the formation of the government. 5. Vice Mayor Ellis Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil – Friday, October 17th at 6:00pm Alexis reviewed the upcoming Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil, hosted by Vice Mayor Ellis. Alexis asked interested Commissioners to RSVP to her by the end of the week. 6. City of Chandler Domestic Violence Commission Domestic Violence Awareness Event – Tuesday, September 23rd 9:00am – 12:00pm Alexis reviewed the City’s annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event. She encouraged Commissioners to attend and support the city’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about domestic violence prevention. 7. Chandler Water Festival – November 5th and/or November 6th 7:30am – 2:30pm Alexis reviewed the Chandler Water Festival. This event provides an opportunity for elementary-aged students to learn about water conservation and city programs. She asked interested commissioners to RSVP by the end of the week. 8. Woofstock Volunteer Opportunity – Saturday, November 15th, 8:30am – 11:00am and 10:30am - 1:00pm Alexis reviewed the Woofstock Volunteer Opportunity, during which Commissioners would help operate a “Puppacinos” stand. She asked interested Commissioners to RSVP to her by the end of the week. 9. MYC Pilot Program Update Alexis and the Commission provided an update on the MYC Pilot Program. Participating members shared their experiences. Commissioner Jaden discussed his involvement with the Airport Commission, noting how officials addressed and managed airport- related issues. Commissioner Alex described his experience working with officials on community solutions, such as cafés designed to support individuals with dementia.
