Professional Experience
With a professional background that bridges graphic design, interior architecture, and fine art, I
bring a well-rounded and informed perspective to a public art advisory board. My work as a
practicing artist, illustrator, and surface pattern designer gives me a deep appreciation for both
aesthetics and functionality in public spaces. As a member of AIGA and SEGD, I stay actively
engaged in the broader design community, and my NCIDQ certification reflects my commitment to
professional excellence in interior design. This unique combination of creative practice, formal
training, and industry engagement equips me to thoughtfully evaluate public art proposals and
contribute meaningfully to discussions about design, accessibility, and community impact.
Board/Committee Experience
I have valuable experience serving on the board of my company's GiveBack group, where I help
guide charitable donation efforts and supported initiatives that directly benefit local communities
and nonprofit organizations. This role deepened my understanding of how thoughtful giving and
community partnerships can create meaningful impact. Additionally, as a committee chair for
Design, a group dedicated to advancing design conversations within the industry, I have led
programming that brings together professionals to explore innovative ideas, promote design
excellence, and foster professional growth. These leadership roles reflect my commitment to
community engagement and advancing the role of design as a force for positive change.
Briefly explain why you would like to serve on the board / commission
I want to serve on a public art advisory board because I believe in the power of art to connect
communities, tell shared stories, and inspire meaningful dialogue. Through my own art practice, I
have been deeply engaged in public art and understand its potential to transform spaces and
create a sense of belonging. I care deeply about my community and am passionate about using
public art as a tool for inclusive storytelling that reflects the diversity and richness of our collective
experience. I am especially committed to elevating marginalized voices and creating opportunities
for artists from all backgrounds to be seen, heard, and valued. Serving on this board would allow
me to help shape a more vibrant, equitable, and expressive public realm.
