RESOLUTION NO. 5958 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CHANDLER CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY 
TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT(S) WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION 
ADMINISTRATION TO ACCEPT FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 
$1,600,000 FOR AIRFIELD ELECTRICAL LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS AT THE 
CHANDLER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO 
EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT(S); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 
MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS AND 
TAKE ALL OTHER ACTION NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler (“City”) owns the Chandler Municipal Airport (“Airport”); and 
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) periodically programs funds to municipal 
airport facilities through its grant programs; and 
WHEREAS, the FAA requires the City, as the Airport Sponsor, to sign grant agreements accepting said 
grants; and 
WHEREAS, the FAA has notified the City that it anticipates awarding grant funding in an amount not to 
exceed $1,600,000 for the design and installation of airfield electrical lighting improvements; and 
WHEREAS, to secure such grant funding, the City will accept the grant offer in a not to exceed amount. 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona as 
follows: 
Section 1. 
Approves and authorizes the City of Chandler to accept FAA grant funding and 
agreements in an amount not to exceed $1,600,000 for the completion of airfield 
electrical lighting improvements.  
 
Section 2. 
Authorizes and directs the Mayor of the City of Chandler to execute a grant agreement(s) 
for improvements to airfield electrical lighting in an amount not to exceed $1,600,000 
and in a form approved by the City Attorney. 
 
Section 3. 
Authorizes and directs the Mayor, City Manager, or designee, to execute all other 
documents, certifications and/or assurances as may be required by the FAA and take all 
other action necessary or appropriate to carry out the purposes of this Resolution.
