the work of ICAN and potential avenues for collaboration.

Approval of the October 14, 2025 Mayor’s Youth Commission minutes.
Action Agenda Motion and Vote
Commissioner Siddarth moved to approve the October 14, 2025 Mayor’s Youth
Commission meeting minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Aashi.
Motion carried unanimously (18-0-1).

The Commission participated in its annual White Elephant Gift Exchange.
3. Debrief: Vice Mayor Ellis Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil
Commissioner Gowri shared her experience attending Vice Mayor Ellis’s
Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil. She highlighted remarks from the
guest speakers and reflected on the work various organizations are doing in
the region to address domestic violence.
4. Debrief: Chandler Water Festival
No commissioner signed up for this event.

Debrief: Woofstock Volunteer Opportunity
Commissioner Hanna talked about her experience at Woofstock, where she
and other commissioners had the opportunity to operate a Puppacino stand
and meet many breeds of dogs. They also enjoyed festivities and events at
the fair.

Debrief: Tumbleweed Tree Lighting Volunteer Opportunity
Commissioners shared their experiences judging at the Tumbleweed Tree
Lighting event. They noted that they enjoyed observing the different
displays, performances, and festive activities.

The Polar Express and Night Before Christmas Holiday Party Volunteer
Opportunity
Commissioners already signed up for this volunteering event, and Alexis
confirmed attendance through email.

Commissioner Siddarth reported on his experience serving on his assigned
commission, noting discussions related to zoning considerations and public
safety within the City of Chandler. He also introduced a potential idea for
the Youth Commission: providing meeting transcripts to commissioners
who are absent.
Commissioner Aashi shared updates from the Human Relations
Committee, describing guest speaker presentations and discussions about
upcoming events such as the Chandler Innovation Fair.

TLA Planning
Commissioners dedicated the remainder of the meeting to planning the
annual Teen Leadership Academy (TLA). They were organized into three
groups based on program components: Artificial Intelligence, Mock City
Council, and the new “Design Your City” activity.
Member Comments/Announcements
Commissioner Brad Wu presented his Stroke Awareness Initiative, noting that it has
received endorsement from Vice Mayor Ellis. He invited commissioners to support the
initiative and provided guidance on how they could develop their own initiatives in
collaboration with City Council.
Commissioner Siddarth discussed his proposal to revise the event fulfillment
requirement for commissioners. He suggested transitioning from an event-based system
to a time-based system to address inconsistencies in the duration of various events. He
noted that he will continue refining this proposal and bring forward additional details at a
later time.
