RESOLUTION NO. 5985 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN SALT RIVER PROJECT (SRP) AND THE CITY OF CHANDLER AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE KYRENE BRANCH AND HIGHLINE CANAL SHARED USE PATHS ALONG SRP CANALS WHEREAS, the United States of America Bureau of Reclamation owns the Kyrene Branch and Highline Canals property; and WHEREAS, SRP manages the Kyrene Branch and Highline Canals pursuant to contracts with the United States; and WHEREAS, the city plans to construct shared use paths along the banks of the Kyrene Branch and Highline Canals for public use by pedestrians and bicyclists; and WHEREAS, the city is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Kyrene Branch and Highline shared use paths and associated improvements; and WHEREAS, a license agreement with SRP is required to authorize the city to construct, operate, and maintain the Kyrene Branch and Highline Canal shared use paths and associated improvements; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona: Section 1. Approving the terms of the license agreement between the City of Chandler and Salt River Project in the form attached as Exhibit “A”. Section 2. Authorizing the Mayor to sign and execute said license agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler.
