Project Summary
This grant would fund the upgrade of the Fire Departments Hurst Combi Tools ("Jaws of
Life") for Engine and Low Acuity units to be newer E3 battery technology from the
current E2 battery technology. Currently the departments Ladder trucks have the newer
technology, and the department has found them to be very effective. This grant would
fund 15 new tools for disbursement to the units running the older batteries. Benefits of
the accepted grant would be that all apparatus being on the same combi tool will allow
for easy exchange between units, if necessary, bulk purchase discounts of replacement
parts and fewer repairs being needed. Many of the older Combi-Tools have been
needing repair, leading to downtime of the tool that impacts operations and potentially
impacts responses.
Grant Requirement:
Purchase of Equipment over $10,000
