I am in the process of and plan to continue expanding my community reach. First it was the
HOA, then my voting district, and now to the city I love and call home. I want to focus my
efforts hyper locally in Chandler and be in the weeds of helping keep chandler a fantastic

stone into the culture of America, Chandler is my city. And volunteering with my city of
Chandler is the perfect way to give back to the community, and I've regularly volunteered with

education teacher and school administrator. The majority of my career has been spent as a social
science researcher and technical assistance provider at the American Institutes for Research in
Washington, DC. I hold a BA and MS in Education from the University of New Mexico, and a PhD in
Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.A highlight of my career was leading the
development of an early warning system designed to identify students at risk of dropping out of
high school. This system used data to monitor individual student progress and assess the
effectiveness of interventions at the school, district, and state levels. Throughout my work, Ive
remained focused on advancing equity, promoting systems-level change, and improving outcomes
for students with disabilities.

As a teenager, I had the formative experience of serving on the Mayors Committee for People with
Disabilities in Minneapolis from ages 15 to 17. That opportunity helped shape my lifelong
commitment to disability rights, equity, and public service. While I have not served on any boards

professional roles.

I bring both professional expertise and personal experience, and Id like to use that knowledge to
positively impact the broader Chandler community, especially people with disabilities. After living in
Arizona from 1997 to 2001, I returned years later and chose Chandler based solely on school
ratings a practical decision focused on my children that became something much more meaningful
for my entire family. Ive grown to deeply appreciate Chandlers strong sense of community and the
citys visible commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and resident engagement.At the same time, like
any growing and evolving city, there are still gaps and opportunities to improve. My goal is not to
criticize, but to contribute to help identify areas where we can build on the good work already
being done. I believe the perspective I bring combining lived experience as a person with a
disability and a long career in systems-level education and equity work can be a valuable asset as
the city continues to move forward.Serving on this committee feels like a meaningful way to
reconnect with civic life and give back to a place that has given me and my family so much. Im

watching my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents give their time and talents through
organizations such as the Chandler Hospital Auxiliary, the Chandler Service Club, the
Chandler Sheriffs Posse, and the Chandler Arts Commission. Their example instilled in me a
strong sense of civic responsibility and pride in our city's history and cultural life. I believe it
is now my turn to carry that tradition forward by giving back to the community that shaped
me. Serving on the museum foundation board would allow me to do just that supporting an
