RESOLUTION NO. 5992 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF  CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, APPROVING A SUBRECIPIENT GRANT AGREEMENT WITH 
THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR 
CHANDLER RAPID RESPONSE FIRE TEAM TRAINING IN THE AMOUNT 
OF $36,000. 
 
WHEREAS, the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS), through the Homeland 
Security Grant Program provides financial assistance directly to fire departments to ensure they 
are prepared and equipped to respond to large-scale emergencies, terrorist events, and natural 
and/or man-made disasters; and 
 
WHEREAS, the AZDOHS made reallocated 2022 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant 
Program funds available for award and the Chandler Fire Department (CFD) submitted a grant 
application to support its Rapid Response Team (RRT) training; and 
  
WHEREAS, CFD received written confirmation from the AZDOHS of award approval of $36,000 
for the 2025 UASI RRT Sustainment Project under the 2022 UASI Grant Program, with no 
matching requirement; and 
 
WHEREAS, the AZDOHS requests that the City of Chandler enter into a subrecipient agreement 
to govern the terms of the grant, and CFD has determined that it can comply with the terms of the 
agreement. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows:           
 
 
Section 1. 
Approving the Subrecipient Agreement with the AZDOHS and authorizing the 
acceptance of grant funds from the AZDOHS in the amount of $36,000 under the 
2022 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program in the form substantially 
attached as Exhibit “A.” 
 
Section 2. 
Authorizing the Fire Chief, or his designee, to sign the Subrecipient Agreement and 
take the necessary actions to implement its provisions and perform all acts 
necessary to effect this Resolution.
