The meeting was called to order by Barbara Meyerson at 5:35 pm.

1. Approval of Minutes from January 6, 2026 Chandler Museum Foundation Board Meeting

Board Member Jacki Ryan made a motion to approve minutes from the January 6, 2026
Chandler Museum Foundation Board Meeting

Board Member Martin Sepulveda seconded the motion.

Motion carried unanimously (12-0). The minutes were approved as presented.

Discussion
2. Update on Eddie Basha Jr. Exhibition Opening

Mrs. Ryan shared updates on the exhibition opening event:

Hamiliton High string trio/quartet is booked
o
Board Member Heather Patterson booked security
o
Flowers have been ordered
o
Tablecloths were purchased
o
Estimated cost of $10,600
o
7 donors, who contributed $11,500
o
Temporary fencing needs to be purchased

Board Treasurer Gregory Herriman shared options for a donor wall and temporary fencing.

The Board discussed having QR codes and restricted donation information sheets
available.
3. Update on Chandler Museum Strategic Planning

Keen has sent a matrix with the input from staff, surveys, and the steering committee.
Museum Manager Jody Crago and Museum Operations Manager Peter Bugg are collecting
staffing and budgetary information to send to Keen.

A draft should be completed by the end of March.
4. Update on Applicants for Appointment to the Chandler Museum Foundation to Fill Unscheduled
Vacancy

The Board recommended Gretchen Pace to fill the vacancy. City of Chandler Mayor Kevin
Hartke has the recommendation, and the earliest the vacancy can be filled is at the
February 26 City Council meeting if approved.

The annual vacancies are in the submission process.
5. Board Chair’s Report

Board Chair Barbara Meyerson gave kudos to everyone working on the Basha opening
event.
6. Museum Manager’s Report

During the week of January 14, the Museum had 10 engagements with the public on site
and off site, including rentals, a panel discussion with KJZZ, field trips, outreach
presentation, and the Multicultural Festival.

Gaman, Newest Americans, and Sonoran Shapes exhibitions closed. The exhibition hall is
closed for the installation of the Eddie Basha exhibition.

The House of Broadcasting Inc. exhibition will open in late March.

Monday was the 2026 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Almost 250 people
attended, and NBC 12 was there conducting interviews.

86 people attended the History Bites about Route 66.

Mr. Crago invited the board members to attend the State of the City. On that night, the 27
Flags: Our History through Stars and Stripes will be on display. The exhibition will then be
split between 14 locations throughout the city. From June 13 – July 4, the exhibition will be
on display in the Agave Room.

The Museum had six rentals in February. Mr. Crago suggested that there should be a
discussion about evening rental staff in the future.

7. Calendar of Exhibitions and Events

In April, Mr. Bugg will present about Joshua Tree National Park during the History Bites
program.
