3. Discussion about the Dedication of the Field of Hope Event on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 6pm,
Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, West. DV Commissioners discussion: Commissioner Roeder (ACESDV
Representative on the Commission) will support Keynote Speaker. DV Commission will
participate in the information fair on the field from 4-5:30pm: Commissioners Roeder and Brizel
4. DV Commission discussed the 2026 Proclamations to be read at the April 6th City Council
Meetings: Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month
5. Discussion about the DV Commission's hosted Mother's Day Brunch at My Sister's Place on
Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 9am-11am –This year lined up with Latin American countries’
Mother’s Day on May 10, 2026. Discussed logistics: food, flowers, children activity, ect. In April,
Commissioners will confirm they can attend and confidentiality forms will be signed at the
meeting.
6. Discussion about the logistics for the Domestic Violence Awareness Event - September 29,
2026: Agency panel was discussed to show the spectrum of ages and a safe dating guide.
7.The Community Outreach Subcommittee will share the idea of activities for teens at the Boys
and Girls Club and/or YMCA: reading activity, requested dates from directors
8.Discussion about the Three - Five Strategic Plan

Commissioner Grieve brought up the idea for DV Commission to do a follow up presentation
or activity to the DV Awareness Event either in person or virtual.
