Consent Agenda 1. February Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes Move Parks and Recreation Board to approve the meeting minutes of the February 3, 2026 regular meeting. Page 2 of 3 Board Member Montgomery motioned to approve the consent agenda; seconded by Board Member Krishnamurthy. Motion carried 4-0. Briefing 2. Protected Bike Lanes Presentation – Hezequias Rocha, Sr. Transportation Planning Program Coordinator Mr. Rocha presented an overview of current and planned bicycle infrastructure improvements in Chandler. Highlights included: • The Frye Road Protected Bike Lane project, a 2.5-mile corridor connecting downtown Chandler to the Paseo Trail and nearby schools, is currently under construction and anticipated to be completed late summer/early fall 2026. • The project features separated bike lanes using curbs and delineators, green pavement markings at conflict points, and public art elements including student artwork installations near schools. • A mini street sweeper was purchased with grant funding to maintain protected bike lanes. Additional projects discussed included: • Jacaranda Parkway Protected Bike Lane, a 4.2-mile corridor currently in design with construction anticipated 2026–2027. • Kyrene Branch and Highline Canal Shared-Use Paths, which will improve connectivity to Chandler’s canal trail system and the regional trail network. Mr. Rocha also highlighted the upcoming 18th Annual Chandler Family Bike Ride, scheduled for April 11, 2026, which promotes cycling and community recreation. 3. Proposed Fees Community Services Director John Sefton provided an update on recreation fee adjustments recently presented to City Council. Updates included: • Establishing fees for pickleball and archery tournaments at City facilities. • Increasing birthday party package fees for non-residents. • Implementing updated formulas for recreation program and class fees, including separate calculations for residents and non-residents. Page 3 of 3 Staff noted that a citywide fee study is currently underway and that additional pricing policy updates may be considered in the future as part of the process. 4. Recreation and Library Master Plan Update – John Sefton, Community Services Director Mr. Sefton provided an update on the Recreation and Library Master Plan currently in progress. Key points included: • A public engagement campaign has launched with the theme “Tag, You’re It! Your Opinion Is Overdue.” • Consultant BerryDunn collected over 100 community surveys at the recent Chandler Innovation Fair. • Additional outreach efforts will include flyers, signs, business cards, and social media campaigns. Mr. Sefton indicated that a stakeholder meeting with the Parks and Recreation Board is anticipated in the coming months. Member Comments/Announcements None. Calendar 5.
