The final day for candidate nomination papers for the McMicken Irrigation District (the “District”) directors’ election was yesterday, July 31, 2023. As there is one director position up for election this year, and only one candidate petition was filed for this position, the District hereby requests that the Board of Supervisors cancel the November 14, 2023, directors’ election. The District’s Director-at-Large #2 position is up for election this year and R.T.S. (“Selwyn”) Justice filed a nomination paper for that seat. A copy of his nomination paper is enclosed. Please place this matter on the agenda for the next formal Board of Supervisors’ meeting, which we understand will be on August 23, 2023. Please call me if you have any questions.
