RESOLUTION NO. 6022 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN MARICOPA COUNTY AND CITY OF CHANDLER FOR AMERICAN RESCUE PROGRAM FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS AND ASSURANCES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ALL ACTION NECESSARY OR PRUDENT TO IMPLEMENT THE CITY’S AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS. WHEREAS, Maricopa County, acting by and through the Maricopa County Human Services Department, (“MCHSD”) awarded the City of Chandler $10,000,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) funds, with $5,000,000 to be used in support of the new construction of the Villas on McQueen and $5,000,000 to be used in support of the new construction of The Haven on Hamilton; and WHEREAS, MCHSD and the City executed an Intergovernmental Agreement effective November 1, 2023 (the “IGA”) that specified the grant terms; and WHEREAS, MCHSD and the City wish to revise certain terms of the IGA including extending the term through December 31, 2026. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. Approves Amendment No. 1 to the IGA, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit “A.” Section 2. Authorizes the Mayor of the City of Chandler to execute Amendment No. 1 on behalf of the City of Chandler. Section 3. Authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the City, appropriate certifications and other documents and take such other actions as are necessary or appropriate to carry out the intent of this Resolution and implement the City’s affordable housing projects.
