Program Information Summaries 
 
Alhambra Health Fair 
On August 13, the Alhambra Elementary School District hosted its annual Health Fair at 
Sevilla East School. Over 450 families attended to receive free immunizations, physical 
and dental exams, and vision and hearing screenings. The event also offered various 
community resources, including free eyeglasses, fresh produce bags, a diabetes 
presentation, and assistance from the Child Find team during the screening process. 
Head Start staff were present to provide information and help 19 families with pre-
registration.  
 
Dental Screenings 
On August 20, staff from Head Start Birth to Five joined forces with Maricopa County’s 
Cavity Free AZ Dental Program to provide free screenings and varnishes to Head Start 
children in the Pendergast Elementary School District. A total of 28 children received 
screenings, including two from Early Head Start.  
 
Arizona Attendance Summit 
On August 27, the Head Start Birth to Five Program participated in a roundtable 
discussion at the Summit, hosted by EveryDay Labs and Read On Arizona, and held at 
the Heard Museum for over 100 attendees. The Program highlighted its attendance 
campaign, emphasizing key elements and the crucial role parents play in boosting 
attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism.
