Attachment B - Approval Report 2 Planning and Development Department June 8, 2020 Consolidated Abandonment Staff Report: ABND 200512 Project# 19-1670 Location: NWC of Thunderbird Trl and 7th Street Applicant: Chris Moore; Sunrise Engineering Request to abandon: To abandon 8’ public utility easements adjacent to APN’s 300-64-008, 300-64-009, 300-64-010, 300-64-011, 300-64- 012, 300-64-013, 300-64-014, 300-64-015, 300-64-15-16, 300-64-017, 300-64-018, 300-64-019, and 300-64-020; per subdivision final plat “Thunderbird Country Club Estates Unit Three”; Book 71, Page 21. Purpose of request: The applicant states: To remove the unnecessary easements from the property. The property will include private accessways with 10’ public utility easements on each side of parcels for utilities. 3 4 City Staff Comments and Recommendations PDD Civil Reviewer: " Recommend approval." Utility Comments The request was also routed to outside utility companies for their input. Listed below are the responses from each utility. Cox – Kenny Hensman "Recommend approval." Southwest Gas – Nancy Almanzan "After reviewing the plans for the above-referenced project, it has been determined that there are no apparent conflicts between the Southwest Gas system and your proposed abandonment of the public utility easement. Southwest Gas would like to recommend abandonment of the public utility easement located at the above- referenced location." Arizona Public Service – James Generoso "The subject properties are not within APS service territory, and APS has no facilities within the abandonment area. Therefore, APS has no objection to the PUE abandonments in ABND 200512." CenturyLink – Tommy Sassone "QWEST CORPORATION d/b/a CENTURYLINK (“CenturyLink”) has reviewed the request for the subject vacation and has determined that it has no objections with respect to the areas proposed for vacation as shown and/or described on Attachment “A”, said Attachment “A” attached hereto and incorporated by this reference." Salt River Project – Sherry Wagner "Salt River Project has no objection to the abandonment of the 8’ PUE’s at the rear of APNs 300-64-008 through 020. There are no facilities in the PUE’s they are all in the street at the front of the lots." 5 Planning and Development Department Stipulation of Conditional Approval The request of abandonment ABND 200512 is conditionally approved and the following stipulations will need to be met: 1. Any utilities within the abandoned easement shall be relocated to locations approved by each affected utility company. All work is to be done by each affected utility company at no expense to the affected utility company. 2. This abandonment shall be recorded concurrently with PLAT 200511. 3. The above stipulations must be completed within one year from the conditional approval decision dated June 8th, 2020. This conditional approval has been reviewed and approved.
