CONDITIONAL APPROVAL – ABND 200519 
Your abandonment request was granted CONDITIONAL APPROVAL. 
This request will NOT be completed until all the stipulations have been met and this 
request is formally adopted by City Council. It is the APPLICANT’S RESPONSIBILITY 
to ensure that all stipulations are satisfied. Please contact Robert G. Martinez at (602) 
495-0806 for questions and notification of your completion of the stipulations.
Upon completion of the stipulations Robert G. Martinez will schedule your request for 
City Council formal approval. You will receive a copy of the abandonment document after 
it has been recorded with Maricopa County. 
If the stipulations of abandonment are not completed within one year from the date of 
your conditional approval (your expiration date is July 15, 2021), this request will then 
expire. At that time a new submittal will be required along with the required payment for 
the abandonment process.

Utility Comments 
The request was also routed to outside utility companies for their input. Listed below are 
the responses from each utility. 
 
Cox – Kenny Hensman 
Recommend approval.  Please find attached modified word doc. for and approval of the 
abandonment requested at NWC of 22nd Ave and Carol Ann Way, Phoenix, AZ.

Southwest Gas – Nancy Almanzan 
After reviewing the plans for the above-referenced project, it has been determined that 
there are no apparent conflicts between the Southwest Gas system and your 
proposed abandonment reduction of the public utility easement.  Permission is granted 
to reduce the public utility easements to 6’ feet at the above referenced location. 
 
Arizona Public Service – James Generoso 
APS has no facilities within the abandonment area, and therefore has no objection to 
application ABND 200519 for PUE abandonment. 
 
CenturyLink – Tommy Sassone 
Qwest Corporation d/b/a CenturyLink QC (“CenturyLink”) has reviewed the request for 
the subject abandonment of 17-feet of a 25-foot public utility easement located on the 
north property line of Lots 1-6 of the Sierra Prieta 3 Plat recorded December 21, 2018 
as Book 1430, Pg. 42 in the official records of Maricopa County, Arizona. CenturyLink 
released its interest in the 25-foot utility easement (as reserved by Document No. 
2002210025 by City of Phoenix Ordinance No. 19756 recorded February 28, 2002), on 
December 27, 2019 as Document No. 20191050741.  
CenturyLink also acquired an 8-foot easement for its facilities on Lots 1-6, recorded 
November 18, 2019 as Document No. 20190929382. CenturyLink has determined that it 
has no objections with respect to the 17-feet proposed for abandonment as shown 
and/or described on Attachment “A”, said Attachment “A” attached hereto and 
incorporated by this reference.  
It is the intent and understanding of CenturyLink that this Vacation shall not reduce our 
rights to any other existing easement or rights we have on this site or in the area.  
This vacation response is submitted WITH THE STIPULATION that if CenturyLink 
facilities are found and/or damaged within the vacated area as described, the Applicant 
will bear the cost of relocation and repair of said facilities. 
 
Salt River Project – Sherry Wagner  
Salt River Project has no objection to the abandonment as shown in your application 
ABND 200519 north of Carol Ann Way west of 22nd Avenue.  This is in the Arizona 
Public Service serving area. 
 
Stipulations of Conditional Approval   
 
The request of abandonment ABND 200519 is conditionally approved and the following 
stipulations will need to be met:  
 
1. All utilities shall be relocated to locations approved by the affected utility company. 
All work is to be done by the affected utility company at no expense to the affected 
utility company. 
 
2. The above stipulations must be completed within one year from the conditional 
approval decision dated July 15, 2021.
