I’ve pulled together the City documents that explain the IDD, the policies that encourage development within the district, and 3 sections from the Zoning Ordinance that provide special standards within the district. The current request is to expand the existing area (the yellow line on the map) to include two areas (the dashed red lines on the map). Please take a look at the attachment and let me know if you have further questions. Attachment G 2 Neighborhood Meeting agenda: https://www.phoenix.gov/cityclerksite/PublicMeetings/200504003.pdf Best regards, Mr. Kim Steadman, RA Planner II Zoning Section 602-534-7284 Kim.Steadman@phoenix.gov City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department 200 West Washington Street, 2nd Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003 From: Neil Berger To: Kim Steadman Subject: June 8th Planning Committee RE:GPA-SA-CC-1-19-8 Date: Saturday, August 29, 2020 1:21:49 PM Kim Steadman, Good afternoon. My name is Neil Berger. My wife and I recently purchased a home on 13th st. and Diamond. I am a math and history teacher at the Academy of Math and Science. I am also a veteran of Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq where I served as a cryptologist for the U.S. Navy. My wife and I bought our home in January. By February we were barely moving in and by mid march, Covid-19 had shut everything down. The purpose for my letter is two-fold. The first reason is to express my adamant support for improving this neighborhood and it's proposal for the Housing/PDD infill expansion in the designated area of 12th st. to 16th st., south of the I-10. The second reason is to discuss the small plot of land directly behind my home being turned into a community garden that my wife and I would be happy to oversee and help facilitate. Would you be the person to talk to about this second situation? I hope this letter finds you well and to hear from you soon. Best Regards, Neil Berger
