ORDINANCE S-
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT ANNUAL GRANT APPLICATIONS TO THE
FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER ANY
ASSOCIATED AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO ACCEPT
AND DISTRIBUTE THOSE FEDERAL GRANTS; AND
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO
RECEIVE AND THE CITY CONTROLLER TO DISBURSE
ALL FUNDS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHOENIX as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or the City Manager’s designee is
authorized to submit to the City’s annual applications for Federal Transit Administration
(FTA) grant assistance. The total amount of grant funds sought from FTA for the region
is up to one hundred thirty-eight million three hundred twenty-seven thousand one
hundred forty-two dollars ($138,327,142). If awarded, the City alone is expected to
receive fifty-one million two hundred thirty-five thousand five hundred ninety-five dollars
($51,235,595) from this federal allocation, which will require a local match by the City
not to exceed nine million four hundred forty-two thousand four hundred seventy-two
dollars ($9,442,472).

SECTION 2. The City Manager or the City Manager’s designee is also
authorized to execute an agreement with FTA to accept the grant assistance, if
awarded, and enter into agreements with other local governments and agencies for
distributing any pass-through FTA grant funds.
SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is authorized to receive and the City
Controller is authorized to disburse all funds for purposes of this ordinance.
