Chandler is set to approve a $14.2 million regional deal for Kyrene Road work between Loop 202 and north of Chandler Boulevard. The agreement with the Maricopa Association of Governments, the region's planning agency, programs $14,247,515.04 in reimbursements for design, right of way and construction, paid from the half-cent sales tax Maricopa County voters renewed in 2024. Chandler fronts the money first and gets paid back as the job moves ahead.

A Fountain Hills work session item covered the town's road conditions and a possible repair bond, with staff laying out the pavement backlog, survey results and early cost estimates while asking only for direction. Chandler also would sign an SRP construction agreement for the Ray Road and Dobson Road intersection, pay for pre-design work for a Ray Road and Kyrene Road intersection study, buy property rights for the Paseo Trail crossing and purchase new bus shelters. Its airport commission was asked to recommend an FAA grant to design new airfield lights, and the city would bury power lines along Frye Road, take over county right of way on Chandler Heights Road and run fiber under the Union Pacific tracks near Warner Road to extend its network.

Phoenix put a stack of federal money requests on its agenda: bridge funding for District 8, a Loop 101 corridor agreement with the county road department, safe-streets grants for Districts 4 and 5 and a railroad crossing program in Districts 4, 7 and 8. The city also sought transit grant applications with Chandler and Valley Metro, asked for low- and no-emission bus money and moved a traffic signal and streetlight supply agreement. Smaller Phoenix items covered roadway and trail easements in four districts, a preliminary engineering reimbursement deal, a new FAA lease at Deer Valley Airport and a pavement equipment contract.

Scottsdale would accept a $377,676 regional grant for a new street sweeper, license space for a trolley office, add a customs officer at its airport and hire an aviation real estate broker. Tempe's agenda included bus facility and paratransit agreements with the regional transit authority and its Aviation Commission listed Sky Harbor noise and fuel-dumping items, while Tucson's consent agenda included an ADOT crash-data agreement and right of way for Limberlost Drive. Avondale's consent agenda included money for a new pedestrian signal on Lower Buckeye Road, and Mesa would annex a small strip of county right of way on Signal Butte Road. The week's theme was simple: cities chasing outside money for roads, bridges and buses while chipping away at maintenance backlogs they already own.
