15. ACCEPT SUPPLEMENTAL FY23 VICTIM COMPENSATION FUNDING FROM ARIZONA CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMISSION Accept additional grant funds from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) in the amount of $186,000 for FY23 Victim Compensation claims. The funds are $186,000 in ARPA (Federal ) funding. The addition of the supplemental funding brings the total amount of the FY23 grant award to $2,742,593.00. The supplemental funding is limited for use in paying Victim Compensation claims and cannot be used for indirect costs. The Arizona Criminal Justice Commission Grant Number VC-23-oo8 commenced on July 1, 2022, and terminates on June 30, 2023. ACJC Vict im Compensation Grant funding is recurring. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office's composite indirect cost rate for FY23 is 22.35% or $41,571 for the additional funding. The recoverable indirect cost of administering this grant is $0; the non-recoverab le indirect cost is $41,571. Non-recoverable indirect costs will be covered by the departmental general fund budget. There is no requirement for matching funds. The original grant was competitive and does not require ongoing cash contributions after the gr ant period's end date. Grant revenues are not “local revenues” for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by budget law. This funding directly supports the overall mandated functio n of providing victim services. (C-19-23-122-X-00)
