12. GRANT FUNDS FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAVEL EXPENSES FROM THE ARIZONA AUTO THEFT AUTHORITY Approve receipt of grant funds from the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority FY24 LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT in the amount of $1,213.43 and authorize the Chairman to sign all applicable documents. The funds are intended to reimburse MCAO for travel expenses incurred by DCA Frank Woods for a presentation provided at the Multi-State Auto Theft Prevention Authority meeting held in Albuquerque, New Mexico in November 2023. This grant agreement commences when all signatures have been obtained and will terminate on June 30, 2024, unless an extension has been requested and received. In accordance with item 2 on pages 1 and 2 of the agreement, the grant allows a 0% rate for indirect costs or $0 that may be incurred by the County Attorney’s Office of Maricopa County for the administration of this grant. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office's composite indirect cost rate for FY24 is 20.20%, or $245.11. The recoverable indirect cost of administering this grant is $0; the non-recoverable indirect cost is $245.11 which will be covered by the department general fund. This grant is non-competitive and does not require a match. The grant award does not require ongoing cash contributions after the grant period ends. Grant revenues are not “local revenues” for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by budget law. This one-time grant to reimburse travel expenses will expire at the end of the agreement. (C-19-24-147-X-00)
