24. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TITLE VI ASSURANCE AND THE FAMILY EDUCATION RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT (FERPA)/PROTECTION OF PUPIL RIGHTS AMENDMENT (PPRA) ASSURANCES AS THEY RELATE TO THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FEDERAL GRANT AWARDS Approve the acceptance of the Title VI Assurance and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)/Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) Assurances as they relate to the federal grant awards the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office receives from the Arizona Department of Education. The approval of, and compliance with the Title VI assurance is a material condition for the continued receipt of federal financial assistance for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). The MCSO juvenile education principal, who utilizes the grant funding and oversees the educational services, has reviewed the assurances and understands the responsibilities to remain compliant with the Department of Education requirements.
