55. CERTIFICATION ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Approve the Certification Acceptance Agreement between the State of Arizona, acting by and through the Arizona Department of Transportation, and Maricopa County. The purpose of this action is to approve the subject Agreement, which delegates authority to the County for design, plans, specifications, estimates, contract awards, and inspections of federal-aid highway projects. Under this Agreement, the County is required to adhere to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, responsibilities, and requirements set forth by the Federal Highway Administration and the Arizona Department of Transportation. The County must also maintain appropriate processes, conduct an appropriate project development and delivery program, retain appropriate staff, keep proper records, and meet all other applicable state and federal requirements associated with federally funded highway projects.
