93. IGA WITH UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA FOR INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (ITS) STUDIES Maricopa County, through the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), and the Arizona Board of Regents, on behalf of the University of Arizona (UofA), seek Board approval of a Master Intergovernmental Agreement to collaborate on research-oriented traffic and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) development studies. This Agreement shall become effective as of the date it is approved. Under this five-year agreement, projects may occur within Maricopa County or at UofA facilities, including the Transportation Research Institute in Tucson, and will be initiated through mutually approved project-specific addenda. This partnership will leverage the resources, expertise, and infrastructure of both agencies to advance innovative transportation solutions, improve traffic operations, deploy emerging technologies, and enhance public mobility and safety. Project responsibilities, deliverables, schedules, and cost-sharing will be defined in each addendum, with funding from County, UofA, or joint state and federal grants.
