82. 230116-ROQ, OUTSIDE LEGAL SERVICES 1. Legal Service Providers: Approve the following solicitation serial item with an effective date of July 1, 2023. Serial: 230116-ROQ. These contracts are for private counsel to provide legal services to support the County, its officers and employees in various practice areas (includes both transactional and litigation representation). Approval requires verification of all final paperwork (such as insurance certificates) related to these contracts. Estimate: $21,000,000.00/three years until June 30, 2026, with three year renewal options. 2. For firms currently under contract and/or under assignment but who have not sought to be included in the new 3-year contract, authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to take the following actions: a. For firms who have completed assignments, issue cancellation notices per the terms of the contracts. b. For firms who are already engaged in cases/matters that were initiated under the previous ROQ (171115), issue extensions to the contract terms of their current contracts (if needed) in order to permit them to complete the cases/matters currently assigned. No additional cases will be assigned to these firms. 3. For firms carrying preexisting matters who will be continuing legal services under this new contract, transfer those cases and any new assignments to their new contracts upon Board approval. It is requested by the County Attorney and Risk Management that the Board of Supervisors approve the subject award to the Multiple Award as recommended.
