68. NOTICE OF AWARD FROM DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL FOR THE ‘IMPROVE HEALTH LITERACY FOR VULNERABLE POPULATIONS’ GRANT Approve a Notice of Award (NOA) 4 CPIMP211277-01-01 from DHHS, CDC, for the ‘Collaborative Approach to Improve Health Literacy for Vulnerable Populations: A cross collaborative approach between healthcare, CBOs, refugee resettlement orgs, and public health departments. This is a COVID-19 Response award. This NOA is a no-cost-extension and shall extend the project period end date from June 30, 2023 to December 31, 2023. The grant does not require an in-kind match and ongoing cash contributions are not r equired. This is not a mandated service but provides a benefit to the citizens by improving the effectiveness of local government implementation of culturally appropriate, evidence-based health literacy strategies to vulnerable populations disproportionate ly impacted by COVID-19. This award was competitive. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the revenues is not prohibited by the budget law. This Amendment does no t alter the budget constraining expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. 42-17105. Funding for this Agreement is provided by HRSA and will not affect the County’s General Fund. (C-86-22-204-X-01)
