The goal is to contract with agencies serving adults and/or children with disabilities to identify either new opportunities or expanded initiatives. Initiatives should address any of the following: better preparation of the disability community for future emergencies such as pandemics; supporting COVID recovery; addressing vaccine hesitancy and/or increasing COVID-19 vaccination rates; increasing partnerships with community-based organizations; updating data infrastructure; ensuring seamless communication of public health information to historically marginalized groups; strengthening infrastructure by building or expanding an inclusive workforce; and, updating communications to be culturally and linguistically appropriate. The RFP was released on January 29, 2023 and responses are due by 2:00pm on March 6, 2023. A Public Health Evaluation Committee will review all responses received utilizing evaluation criteria included in the RFP and select those most advantageous to Maricopa County. The anticipated amount to be distributed among all selected Contractors is anticipated to be approximately $1.5M and entities are requested to limit their requests to no more than $500,000 each. Initial contracts will begin on April 1, 2023 and end May 31, 2024. If additional funds become available, awards resulting from this solicitation may be amended and/or extended based on the need for continuous services as well as satisfactory Contractor performance. These agreements will be funded by the COVID-19 Health Improvement Plan-Disparities Grant. Should the funding source cease and alternate funding not be available, Section 4.2 of the RFP, Availability of Funds, will apply allowing for a change or termination of the agreement.
