23. MARICOPA COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD RECERTIFICATION Approve documents necessary for recertification of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board (MCWDB). Documents will be submitted to the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) for the Program Years (PYs) 2024-2025 as required by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Board of Supervisors authorizes and approves certification of the following: 1. MCWDB recertification submission requirements for program years 2024 and 2025 to Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO). 2. MCWDB recertification submission requirements for program years 2024 and 2025 (Exhibit1200A) to OEO. 3. Board of Supervisors Chair to sign recertification (Exhibit1200A). All documents received legal review prior to processing for signatures and will be filed with the Clerk of the Board’s office. The Maricopa County Workforce Development Board Recertification request serves as formal notification to the Governor, Workforce Arizona Council, and Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) of the County‘s request for Recertification for the PY 2024-2025. The MCWDB is established and receives its authority in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which was signed into law on July 22, 2014 as Public Law 113-128. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS) shall have final authority. Supervisory District: All Districts (C-95-25-009-X-00) 24. RESIGNATION AND APPOINTMENT OF MARICOPA COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD MEMBERS Approval for the following actions regarding the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board (MCWDB) as set forth below: 1. Accept the resignation of Marcia Veidmark (CEO, SSC Underground) in the Business category of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, effective January 26, 2025. 2. Accept the appointment nomination of Justin Oviatt (Manager, Liberty Mutual) in the Business category of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, effective upon approval through June 30, 2027 (completing the term of former member Matt Clark.) 3. Accept the appointment nomination of John Dvorak (Recruiter, HR Generalist, ATP Flight School) in the Business category of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, effective upon approval through June 30, 2026 (completing the term of former member Marcia Veidmark.) 4. Accept the appointment nomination of Linchen Anna Yap (Department Manager-Learning and Development, TSMC) in the Business category of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, effective upon approval through June 30, 2028. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approves the appointments, and reappointments and accepts the resignations of MCWDB members. Supervisory District: All Districts (C-95-25-008-X-00)
