THIS PROCURNIENT IS A SINGLE SOURCE BECAUSE (attach additional page if needed):
The purchase of this Seabotix ROV will replace an existing Seabotix ROV that was purchased by MCSO
nine years ago. The new system will be the primary unit with the current system acting as a
supplemental unit until it is no longer operational. The system is used for for underwater rescue and
recovery efforts of victims and evidence in the waterways of Maricopa County. For the last nine years,
MCSO's ROV unit has been utilizing the Seabotix platform and is trained in the software and systems.
Purchasing an upgraded version of the same system will mitigate the risk of operational error if MCSO is
required to run two separate types of ROV systems. Procuring the Seabotix Roy will also reduce
potential costs for training on an entirely unfamiliar platform. The MCSO ROV unit will also be able to
provide routine maintenance of the new unit.

Seabotix is the manufacturer and sole provider of the Seabotix ROV. It is critical to maintain
consistency with the ROV platform to ensure that MCSO search and rescue staff can easily transition
to the new unit having instant operational and maintenance knowledge.
