Jefferson, 10th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County, Arizona convened in Informal Session at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 in the Supervisors’ Conference Room, 301 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, Arizona, with the following members present: Clint Hickman, Chairman, District 4; Andy Kunasek, Vice Chairman, District 3; Denny Barney, District 1 (via telephone); Steve Chucri, District 2 (via telephone). Absent: Steve Gallardo, District 5. Also present: Fran McCarroll, Clerk of the Board; Joy Rich, County Manager and Michelle Wood, Legal Counsel. Minutes compiled by Lori Medaris, Minutes Coordinator. Votes of the Members will be recorded as follows: aye-nay- absent-abstain. 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION Vote to convene in Executive Session to consider the items on the Special Executive Agenda dated October 24, 2016, for Board of Supervisors and relevant Special Districts pursuant to the statutory authority listed for each item. Motion to approve by Supervisor Barney, seconded by Supervisor Chucri Ayes: Hickman, Kunasek, Chucri, Barney Absent: Gallardo ~ Supervisor Kunasek entered the meeting ~ RECONVENED as Stadium District Board of Directors STADIUM DISTRICT S-1 POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CHASE FIELD Authorize the District and/or Counsel to take action as directed in executive session regarding contracts, negotiations and other matters relating to Chase Field. (C-06-17-181- M-00) NOTE: Director Gallardo entered the meeting during the discussion in Executive Session. Special Meeting Minutes Monday, October 24, 2016 Page 2 of 2 Motion by Supervisor Chucri acknowledging that the buyer and the team are having a continuing discussion and move that we extend the October 31, 2016 deadline in the Letter of Intent through January 16, 2017 and authorize the Chairman to sign all documents to that effect. Motion is seconded by Supervisor Barney. Ayes: Hickman, Kunasek, Chucri, Barney, Gallardo Paul Golab, attorney for the Stadium District, asked for clarification to the motion, indicating that there were multiple deadlines in the Letter of Intent and related documents, and asked if Director Chucri intended for all deadlines to be extended. Director Chucri indicated that this was his intent and amended his motion to state all deadlines in the Letter of Intent be extended through January 16, 2017. Director Barney concurred with the amended motion.
