information from the other 20 Constables in Maricopa County, sharing the information obtained.
2. The savings for Maricopa County will be for the cost of purchasing the hardware. This project would not be
able to proceed without funding from this grant.
3. By using laptops in the field it will allow Constables and Deputy Constables to obtain more background
information on the defendants to be served before service. This will make them aware of dangers that may
arise before service, thus allowing the Constables and Deputy Constables to prepare more adequately in
regards to their safety and the safety of others.
4. A laptop computer will allow the Constable to be more productive. Constables could record and log
documents at the time of service instead of waiting until they return to an office. This allows for more
accurate logs and data. Additionally. Constables usually have time spent in the field waiting to serve or meet
with a plaintiff. This waiting time can be spent more constructively on projects and logs if a laptop was
available.
