RESOLUTION NO. R2024.01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO 
SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH TEMPE COMMUNITY 
ACTION AGENCY (TCAA) FOR AN EXPANSION OF THE 
FOOD SECURITY INITIATIVE.  
WHEREAS, the County of Maricopa has agreed to provide the City of Tempe with 
Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funds in the amount of $62,500 to support the City’s 
Expanded Food Security Initiative (“Initiative”); and
WHEREAS, Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) administers the Initiative and has 
submitted a proposal to utilize the CSBG funds to expand access to food and nutrition in the Tempe 
area; and
WHEREAS, Tempe Community Action Agency has agreed to a cash match contribution 
in the amount of $16,985 to the program; and
WHEREAS, to this end, the City and TCAA have agreed on the essential terms of a 
subcontract agreement so that it can be on file with the City Clerk’s Office. 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 
CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, hereby:
Section 1: The Mayor is authorized to sign the subcontract agreement between the City of 
Tempe and TCAA.
Section 2: The City is authorized to pass the CSBG funds to TCAA to be used for the purposes 
set forth in the subcontract agreement.
Section 3: The Community Health and Human Services Director or their designee is 
authorized to take such further actions and execute such additional documents as are necessary to 
implement the intent of this Resolution.
