All the consultants are on State contracts. In order to control cost and to better compare quotes sample limits were placed on each facility based on the size and complexity of each facility. All contractors provided estimates on an individual facility basis and understand work must be completed before the end of our fiscal year. Quotes ranged from around $22k to $45k for all facilities. The only cost that are not included are roof repairs for core samples. These repairs could be made citywide by our approved contractor instead of allowing for each consultant to hire their own subcontractor. The evaluations were budgeted $65k for this year with some already used for an asbestos evaluation for the City Hall office remodel project. After meeting and reviewing proposal I am proposing we contract West Tech Inc to evaluate most our buildings but would also like to have Terracon and Dominion also evaluate one facility each. The idea is to have a main consultant but to also have experience with alternates in case we run into situation where we need to bring in another consultant to help out or are in a time constraint situation. The table below is a breakdown of cost from each contractor with a proposed move forward cost. Numbers highlighted in red represent the chosen consultant to complete each facility. Building will prioritized as needed and most work can be done during off hours to minimize disturbance to building occupants. Please provided any feedback and/or concerns you may have moving forward. The project would move forward once council approval is received.
