At your Felix Construction’s, RFI Consultants is providing a letter outlining our suggested remedial
coating system change for the above project’s roof. The suggested roof coating system change is based
upon RFI Consultants field testing results as well as site and service exposure conditions. This
information is available in our report date 5-12-22.

Coating System (Roof Only)
Surface Preparation

Pressure wash all surfaces to be coated to remove all poorly adhering materials and visible contamination.
Best option is pressure wash at 3,500 psi using clean hot potable water mixed with a bio-degradable
detergent. Afterwards, pressure wash rinse at 3,500 psi to remove any remains residues. The prepared
substrates should be clean, dry and sound with nothing remaining on/or within the surface that can inhibit
the penetration and adhesion of newly applied coating system.

All remaining existing coatings should be thoroughly pole sanded to roughen the surface for optimum
mechanical bond. Tightly adhering coating surrounding the bare substrate shall be feather edged to
provide a clean, dry, sound and smooth transition from bare metal or primer to remaining finish coat.

Coating System
Full Prime (Tie ) Coat: Apply | coat @ 3.0 to 4.0 mils DFT

Full Finish Coat: Apply | coat at the coating manufacturers recommended DFT

All coatings shall be applied in a uniform, smooth and void free manner. All mixing, coating application
and storage materials shall be used as stated on the appropriate coating manufacturers product data sheet
and/or application guide. Utilize all appropriate PDS’s and application guides as needed.
