CRYSTAL DYCHES FROM: GRANTS COORDINATOR MARTINA LONGORIA SUBJECT: VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) GRANT DATE: August 1, 2024 The purpose of this memo is to request approval and acceptance of grant funds from the DPS VOCA Grant program and authorize Finance to make the necessary budget adjustments. The El Mirage Police Department has received an invitation to renew the VOCA Grant for FFY2025. The renewal award is $118,602 and requires a match of $29,651. The mission of the DPS-VOCA Administration Unit is to support the provision of a full range of direct services to Arizona's crime victims. This is accomplished by assisting, training, and monitoring crime victim service providers throughout the state. The proposed project in El Mirage, which will support the Victims Assistance Unit by funding personnel costs and benefits and a software program, is crucial for FFY2025. Due to the timing of the application's release date of July 11, 2024, with a deadline of August 8, 2024, the request to request renewal funding for this project is being submitted via this memo.
