FY25 Park Security Enhancements – Contingency Request
Background: 
In order to address public park activities in a proactive and positive manner, the following
recommended security enhancements to current operations have been collected by a working group of
staff for City Council consideration. The recommended infrastructure improvements to Veteran’s Park
resulted from a review of that site specifically as a test location for best practices in neighborhood
pocket parks. While additional improvements will be implemented as a result of ongoing staff analysis,
the following costs represent unbudgeted contingency contracted service requests for FY25
implementation.
Veteran’s Park:
Goal: Increase visibility through enhanced lighting and camera installation.

Power and lighting (~$6,000)
o
Labor, equipment, materials to run power from existing panel to ramada and supply two
-light fixtures (one for ramada, one to replace existing solar light for playground); as well
as separate GFCI outlet for security cameras.

Cameras (~$5,500)
o
Labor, equipment, materials to add two new cameras, router, mounting hardware, and
licensing needed for additional coverage on north side of the park near ramada and
playground areas.
