RESOLUTION NO. R23-60 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR LANDFILL 
DISPOSAL SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF GOODYEAR. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale has a Municipal Landfill located at 11480 West 
Glendale Avenue; 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Goodyear is requesting landfill disposal services from the City of 
Glendale; 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and City of Goodyear wish to enter into an 
Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) pursuant to A.R.S. §11-952 to contract for Landfill 
Disposal Services; 
 
WHEREAS, the respective City Attorneys for Goodyear and Glendale have reviewed the 
IGA and have determined the agreement is in the proper form and their respective cities have the 
power and authority to enter into it; 
 
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2022, the Council of the City of Goodyear will consider 
and is expected to approve the IGA between the City of Glendale and the City of Goodyear for 
Landfill Disposal Services. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and its citizens 
to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for Landfill Disposal Services with the City of 
Goodyear, in the form on file with the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute and enter into the IGA on behalf of the City of Glendale once the City of 
Goodyear has agreed to and executed the same.
