LE GEA elelex _Dorivistarig Authority Date Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Date Sponsoring Board of Supervisor Date Last Updated: 7/1/2021 Initiative: East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) HopeTech Campus Description: EVIT HopeTech: HopeTech is a newly built 64-bed residence hall for youth transitioning out of the Foster Care system. Young Adults transitioning out of the system will have a new, safe home to live in while receiving career-technical training at EVIT. The County through its Human Services Department shall contract with East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) to support housing opportunities for youth in the foster care system in EVIT's HopeTech campus. The County will provide funds for EVIT to procure required furniture and appliances for 5 apartments and transportation within the 65+ acre property and transportation for youth to attend classes and appointments. The County will also provide funds for health and recreation opportunities for the youth. The County shall provide EVIT with $150,000.00 to support the purchase of items necessary for HopeTech to procure the following: e Furniture & Appliances required to furnish up to 5 apartments with basic furnishing and appliances to allow for a reasonably comfortable living environment for Youth. e Transportation items that will allow of ease of accessing 65+ acres of EVIT property and transporting Youth to appointments and trainings. e Recreational courts and equipment which will allow Youth with opportunities to participate in physical activities. By providing CSF to EVIT, youth enrolled in the foster care system will have the opportunity to transition to successful education or career exploration while maintaining stable living conditions.
