A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DECLARING
A PORTION OF A ROAD ALIGNMENT INTO THE COUNTY ROAD SYSTEM TO AUTHORIZE
ABANDONMENT OF THAT PORTION OF ROAD WHICH IS NOT IN A PLATTED SUBDIVISION OR HAS
NOT BEEN DESIGNATED A ROADWAY PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7201(4) AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF SAID ROAD ALIGNMENT PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7214.
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 28-6701(A) authorizes a county board of supervisors to establish, alter or
abandon a highway in the county and other legal subdivisions and acquire real property for those
purposes by purchase, donation, dedication, condemnation, or other lawful means; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-6701(B), the County Engineer has recommended that
a portion of a certain road alignment be designated a county highway and that the Board resolve to declare
it into the county road system; The legal description is described to wit:

That portion of land as described in recorded instrument 1971-0278038, situate in Section 8, Township 1
North, Range 4 West of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona. Said
portions of land being more particularly described as follows:
The South 30 feet of the Northeast one-quarter of the Northeast one-quarter (NE1/4 of NE1/4), and of the
East one-half of the East one-half of the Northwest one-quarter of the Northeast one-quarter (E1/2 of
E1/2 of NW1/4 of NE1/4) of Section 8, Township 1 North, Range 4 West of the Gila and Salt River Base
and Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona.
The above description is depicted on the attached Exhibit “B”.
General Vicinity: Van Buren Street and Sun Valley Parkway. Supervisory District No. 4. and
WHEREAS, to facilitate abandonment of those portions of right of way held by the County as
easement, which are not necessary for public purposes, the right of way must be open and declared a
public highway; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that its
Chairman execute this Resolution evidencing the determination by the Board that the portions of the road
alignment that are held by easement be open and declared to be a public highway and is declared into the
county road system pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-6701 and that all of the highway identified herein is hereby
abandoned pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-7214; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board record this Resolution in the Office of the
Maricopa County Recorder to provide public notice of the establishment and abandonment of such road
pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-6701.
