Teacher Appreciation Week 
 
May 4–8, 2026 
 
WHEREAS, teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of our community by educating, 
inspiring, and guiding students of all ages; and 
 
WHEREAS, teachers dedicate countless hours to preparing lessons, supporting student 
growth, and fostering a positive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom; 
and 
 
WHEREAS, teachers serve as mentors, role models, and leaders who help students develop 
critical thinking skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning; and 
 
WHEREAS, teachers work in partnership with families and the community to support student 
success and help build a strong, educated, and engaged community; and 
 
WHEREAS, the commitment and professionalism of teachers contribute significantly to the 
strength, prosperity, and well-being of the City of Tolleson and the broader community; and 
 
WHEREAS, Teacher Appreciation Week provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate 
the contributions and achievements of educators and to express gratitude for their dedication 
and service. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim May 4–8, 2026 as Teacher Appreciation Week 
in the City of Tolleson, encouraging all residents to join in recognizing and honoring the valuable
