Timeline of activity:
05/21/2021 to 08/21/2021 – During the foreclosure process, Mr. Ristedt contacted the 
Treasurer’s Office to find out how to acquire the parcel. We informed him to submit an 
offer once the foreclosure was completed, with a timeframe of late August/ early 
September of 2021.
10/05/2021 – The tax foreclosures were completed, the Treasurer’s Deeds were signed, 
back taxes were abated, and any liens were voided.
10/06/2021 – The Treasurer’s Deed was recorded, conveying the parcel to the state.
11/09/2021 – The parcel was offered for sale at the tax deeded land auction, but it did 
not sell.
02/01/2022 – The list of state held properties under tax deed was updated to include 
parcel 219-33-007E.

03/2023 – The Treasurer’s Office received an offer of $120.56 from John Ristedt, 
which was rejected per a County Attorney's opinion. We informed Mr. Ristedt that per 
the County Attorney, he would need to acquire the parcel through the auction process 
instead. 
05/01/2023 to 05/04/2023 – The Treasurer’s Office conducted the online tax deeded 
land auction through PublicSurplus.com. Mr. Ristedt submitted the highest bid of 
$810.00.
07/26/2023 – The Board of Supervisors voted to not accept Mr. Ristedt’s bid.
08/10/2023 – The Treasurer’s Office sent refund checks.
