Community Risk Reduction Week 
 
January 20-26, 2025 
 
WHEREAS, the safety and well-being of our community members is of paramount importance 
to the City of Tolleson; and 
 
WHEREAS, Community Risk Reduction is a process to identify and prioritize local risks, 
followed by the strategic deployment of resources to reduce their occurrence and impact; and 
 
WHEREAS, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has designated the third full week 
of January as Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week, providing an opportunity to raise 
awareness and emphasize the importance of proactive prevention strategies; and 
 
WHEREAS, Community Risk Reduction Week highlights the vital role of public safety 
professionals, community organizations, and residents working collaboratively to create a safer 
environment for all; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson recognizes the dedication and efforts of our local fire 
department, emergency services, and community partners in preventing emergencies and 
protecting lives and property through education, training, and innovative programs. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim the week of January 20-26, 2025 as Community 
Risk Reduction Week in the City of Tolleson and call upon all residents to join us in supporting 
and participating in activities that promote safety, preparedness, and community resilience.
