PROCLAMATION

Human & Sex Trafficking Awareness Month

WHEREAS, human and sex trafficking are serious crimes that violate fundamental
human rights and impact individuals, families, and communities across the State of
Arizona including in the Town of Wickenburg; and

WHEREAS, trafficking often occurs in plain sight and affects people of all ages,
genders, and backgrounds, making community awareness and education essential to
prevention and early intervention; and

WHEREAS, informed and engaged residents play a critical role in recognizing the

warning signs of trafficking, reporting suspicious activity, and supporting victims and
survivors; and

WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is launching the Break the Chain
campaign to promote prevention, awareness, and community responsibility in addressing
human and sex trafficking; and

WHEREAS, raising awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages reporting, and
connects victims and survivors to critical resources and services.

NOW THEREFORE, |, BG Bratcher, Mayor of the Town of Wickenburg, do hereby
proclaim January as Human and Sex Trafficking Awareness Month in the Town of
Wickenburg, and encourage all residents, businesses, schools, and community
organizations to participate in awareness efforts, learn the signs of trafficking, and work
together to protect the safety and dignity of all members of our community.

IN WITNESS WHERE OF, | have hereunto set and caused the seal of the Town of
Wickenburg, Arizona, to be affixed on this 20" day of January 2026.
